AIskNet: Locally-run AI for Quick Information Retrieval
Introducing "AIskNet" - a browser extension that harnesses the power of open-source AI models to enhance your browsing experience. This innovative tool operates a local AI model that interacts with the content of your current web page, providing quick and accurate answers to your queries.
At its core, AIskNet utilizes state-of-the-art AI models that have been optimized for compact size and efficiency. By running directly on your local machine, this extension prioritizes your privacy while ensuring efficient information retrieval.
When you activate the AIskNet extension on a new website, it automatically indexes the website content into "vector embeddings". These embeddings enable the extension to identify and extract the most relevant information chunks related to your query. Based on this information, AIskNet generates a response to your question.
One of the noteworthy features of AIskNet is its commitment to transparency and accuracy. It highlights the text that was used as the source for generating its answers, allowing you to verify the accuracy of the response and form your own conclusions.
All data processed by AIskNet remains on your machine and is never transmitted to any remote server. The only interaction with remote servers occurs during the initial download of AI models upon installation.
As a work in progress, AIskNet is continuously evolving with advancements in the field of artificial intelligence. Future updates aim to utilize WebGPU, offloading processing to your GPU and further enhancing the efficiency of the extension.
